Description
The MAX232 is a dual driver/receiver IC that includes a capacitive voltage generator to supply RS-232 voltage levels from a single 5 V supply. Each receiver converts RS-232 inputs to 5 V TTL/CMOS levels, and each driver converts TTL/CMOS input levels into RS-232 levels. The device is ideal for interfacing between logic and RS-232-compatible serial devices. It comes in a compact SOP-16 SMD package, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
