ABSTRACT:

This paper discusses a conceptual framework to support the design of a cyber physical system in the context of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) based monitoring of weather events. The role of information centric modeling approaches in designing the complex cyber physical interactions are discussed along with the design of a validation methodology which involves use of an information centric workflow model, that can also serve as a guide in the accomplishment of the various activities. An advanced Virtual Reality based simulation environment is a part of this framework to help validate flight path plans for the UAVs involved in these weather monitoring activities.
